About the Principal

I commenced as the principal at Albert Street in July 2009. Prior to that I was a lecturer for the Faculty of Education at Monash University teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. I also worked as an Education Officer of Professional Learning for the Catholic Education Office Sale Diocese working with primary principals and teachers. I completed the Gippsland Community Leadership Program in 2008, which inspired me to undertake my current leadership role.

  • Professional Learning and interests: Master in Education, Doctorate in Education, Developing partnerships with local organisations and community members, student leadership, community garden projects, oral language, cultural diversity and dog therapy.
  • Hobbies: Being a dance mum, music, jigsaw puzzles, reading

Dr. Monique Osborn




I have been teaching at Albert Street for the past 4 years and teach in the Junior Unit at Albert Street.

Kieran Browne

Daniel Burnett

I have been teaching at Albert Street for many, many years. Three generations of my family have attended Albert Street including my father, brother, sister, myself as well as my 2 children.

  • Hobbies: In my spare time I am an uber driver for my teenage daughter and love walking my dog Lexie.

Lisa Douglas

With 39 years of teaching experience I have taught all year levels and also enjoyed 4 years as a specialist PE teacher. The majority of my teaching has been in years 3 and 4.

Chris Thomas

I am new to Albert Street this year having taught overseas and interstate.

I am in my second year at Albert Street having previously taught in Secondary School.

Joe Black

I commenced at Albert Street as a Year 4 intern and have worked in the Junior and Senior Units.

Jacob Hall

I am in my first year at Albert Street having taught in both the private and public primary education systems. For the last 8 years, I have specialised in EAL (English as an Additional Language) including Refugee, Asylum seekers and new arrivals in Melbourne and Latrobe Valley.

Leonarda Friguletti

I commenced at Albert Street in 2007 and have been employed as the Welfare Officer for that time.

Amanda Mooney


I have been at Albert Street forever, commencing nearly 30 years ago as a parent volunteer. My 3 children all completed their primary education at Albert Street and my grandchild commenced this year. I commenced as Administration Officer and am now in the role of Business Manager.

Karen Ridley


I commenced at Albert Street in 2010 in the role of Library Technician. In 2015 I was appointed Administration Officer. I have 2 children, one of which commenced prep this year at Albert Street.

Erin Ridley

My employment at Albert Street commenced in 2010 as a Learning Assistant. I have since been trained as a Speech Therapy Assistant and provide Language Support to children across the school.

Julie Sim

I commenced at Albert Street as a volunteer when my children started in 2008. In 2010 I was appointed to the position of Learning Assistant and then Library Technician in 2015. I have 2 children, one at secondary school and the second completing year 6 at Albert Street.

I have been a Learning Assistant for the past 4 years and commenced my employment at Albert Street in 2017.

I completed my Certificate 4 in Education Support in 2016 and commenced employment as a Learning Assistant at Albert Street in 2017.

Claire Van Der Velden

I completed my Certificate 4 in Education Support in 2016 and commenced employment as a Learning Assistant at Albert Street in 2017.

Belinda Holmes

I commenced at Albert Street this year in the role of STEM (Science, technology, Engineering and Maths) teacher. Prior to commencing at Albert Street I worked in secondary schools.

Steve Burns

I began working at Albert Street as a Casual Relief Teacher across all year levels. This is my first year as Music teacher at Albert Street.
